Phân số nào lớn hơn?
\(a) \,\, \dfrac{3}{4} \,\, \text{và} \,\, \dfrac{5}{7}\) \(b) \,\, \dfrac{2}{7} \,\, \text{và} \,\, \dfrac{4}{9}\) \(c) \,\, \dfrac{5}{8} \,\, \text{và} \,\, \dfrac{8}{5}\)
Ta có:
\(a) \,\, \dfrac{3}{4} = \dfrac{3 \times 7}{4 \times 7} = \dfrac{21}{28}; \,\, \,\, \dfrac{5}{7} = \dfrac{5 \times 4}{7 \times 4} = \dfrac{20}{28}\)
Vì \(\dfrac{21}{28} > \dfrac{20}{28} \Rightarrow \bf \dfrac{3}{4} > \dfrac{5}{7}\)
\(b)\,\, \dfrac{2}{7} = \dfrac{2 \times 2}{7 \times 2} = \dfrac{4}{14} \)
Vì \(\dfrac{4}{14} < \dfrac{4}{9} \Rightarrow \bf \dfrac{2}{7} < \dfrac{4}{9}\)
\(c) \,\, \text{Vì} \,\, \dfrac{5}{8} < 1 \,\, \text{và} \,\, \dfrac{8}{5} > 1 \Rightarrow \bf \dfrac{5}{8} < \dfrac{8}{5}\)
Nhận xét: Tùy theo phân số cần so sánh mà ta chọn cách so sánh phù hợp: Quy đồng tử, quy đồng mẫu hay so sánh với \(1\)
