A traditional home in the countryside of Viet Nam in the past consisted of two wings and three rooms. Well-off families had their homes made of wood, bricks, and tiles. Poorer ones had their homes made of bamboo, earth, and straw. They usually lived in extended families and men play the role of head of the household. Food and drinks were mainly home-grown and home-made. Their marriages were usually arranged by parents.
